DAMASCUS, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and two others were wounded on Wednesday when a building collapsed in Syria's eastern city of Deir al-Zour, state news agency SANA reported.
The building collapsed in the Cinema Foad Street, said SANA, adding that the rescue teams are searching for other people under the rubble.
The official report spelled no further details, but posted a couple of photos online, showing the destroyed building and the damage in nearby buildings which suggest that the area was a previous battle zone.
Large swathes of Deir al-Zour was under the control of the Islamic State (IS) militants before the army and Kurdish-led militia groups captured the city in late 2017.
