DHAKA, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh's exports in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year (July 2018-June 2019) grew by about 11.61 percent to nearly 34 billion U.S. dollars.
According to official statistics of the Bangladesh's Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) released here on Thursday, the country fetched 33,937.23 million U.S. dollars from exports in July-April period of the 2018-19 fiscal year.
According to EPB data, export earnings stood at 3.03 billion U.S. dollars in April registering 2.69 percent growth over the corresponding month of the previous year.
Of total exports earning in the first 10 months, the country fetched 28.49 billion U.S. dollars from exports of ready-made garments including knitwear and woven.
Both the knitwear and woven garments grew 12.32 percent and 12.85 percent to 14.08 billion U.S. dollars and 14.41 billion U.S. dollars respectively in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year.
Bangladesh set its export target in 2018-19 fiscal year at 39 billion U.S. dollars including 32.69 billion U.S. dollars from readymade garment products.
