TOKYO, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed mixed Wednesday, with the Nikkei's early gains on Wall Street's lead erased after Toyota Motor Corp. lowering its FY 2018 net profit outlook triggered concerns for other earnings from Japan Inc. this season.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average edged up 29.61 points, or 0.14 percent, higher from Tuesday to close the day at 20,874.06.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, shed 0.75 points, or 0.05 percent, to finish at 1,582.13.
Marine transportation, precision instrument and real estate issues led notable gainers, while consumer credit, transportation equipment and rubber product-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the close of play.
