RIYADH, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia announced on Saturday that it is ready to facilitate the transportation for more than 2 million pilgrims to the holy sites in Mecca, Saudi Press Agency reported.
The Spokesperson of the Interior Ministry, Major-General Mansoor Al Turki, said in a press conference that all pilgrims will move to Minna by Sunday and move to Arafat on Monday to perform the most important ritual of Hajj, and then continue to perform other Hajj-related rituals.
He also said the number of domestic pilgrims is 240,000, who are Saudis and residents of the kingdom.
Meanwhile, Saudi Health Ministry highlighted to protect the wellbeing of pilgrims with the allocations of 25 hospitals and 155 health centres at all sites with the capacity of 5000 beds, 180 ambulances and 100 vehicles that were converted to ICU mobile units.
