ISTANBUL, June 16 (Xinhua) -- Turkish police on Saturday arrested 30 foreigners in Istanbul for their suspected links to the Islamic State (IS), local media reported.
The suspects, who were allegedly plotting terror attacks, were captured in raids in seven districts of the city, the state-run Anadolu Agency said.
Organizational documents and digital materials were seized as well in the operations, the agency noted.
It said more than 300 people were killed in deadly attacks in Turkey in recent years blamed on the IS, which is suffering defeat in neighboring Iraq and Syria.
Turkey is scheduled to hold presidential and parliamentary elections on June 24.
